First B12 shot

10/11/07
Gave Jack a B12 shot yesterday. Good note from Magalie about interaction at school, and lots of energy, concentration and focus, and good use of language at home. Too early to tell, obviously, but wow, it really seemed to do something. Can’t wait to see what happens with the next one on Saturday.

Random Thoughts

October 6, 2007
Jack had Thurs and Fri off from school. Thursday we went to Ikea, Friday we took a ride on the ferry. All in all, Jack was quite good. Tantrums were noticeably decreased with the absence of school. I think the tantrums have a lot to do with control – Jack gets stuck on the bus, goes to school, gets told what to do, then comes home and wants to assert his influence.
Jack completed his school bus puzzle then came and got me in the kitchen, saying school bus puzzle all done. He was proud and wanted to show it to me. It felt really good, and we danced around.
Jackson speech is really improving. His motor skills need work, but I think Lisa and Jackie can help him with that.
Jack swings much higher than he used to, and enjoys it. He can take a lot more sensory input than he used to.
Dad comes tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Not sure what we will do together. Excited to see him teach Olivia some chess.
Diet is definitely a problem. His poops cleared up for 3 weeks and now are as bad as ever. Though I’ve never seen a big yeast die off, I’m becoming more convinced that yeast is a big problem. Whatever it is, he poops out as much as he puts in, and I’m pretty sure he is not extracting nutrients from what he eats. Will be starting anti yeast medication again this week. Need to do another DMSA test (maybe next weekend to insure success?) and will begin topical applications of zinc, magnesium, and glutathiol (sp?), as well as twice weekly subcutaneous b12 shots. Jenny Mcarthy says they are great.
